PALM BEACH ESTATE FIND!! Fabulous pair of framed vintage African wax batik paintings. I was told these were purchased in the 1970s. The colors are so bright and vibrant! One panel represents a traditional village scene and the other a more contemporary village scene. Each framed panel measures approximately 16” x 29” overall framed. Appear to be signed lower right but I can’t make out the signature.
Condition of the cloth is excellent with no fade to the colors however I am guessing they were framed damp and there is some plume on the lower edge of the traditional one which affects the glass. I would suggest taking these to a framer, have them opened and cleaned then resealed. I have priced the pair quite reasonably to compensate for that. The wood frames are in great condition and complimentary to the works.
