Has a funky, Postmodern Memphis Pop Art Sottsass vibe! It is made of Raku fired black clay with an energetic & joyous glaze depicting abstract bicycle riders. Impressed JD mark on base. Ceramicist Jamie Davis was born in Philadelphia in 1945. He earned a BA from Vanderbilt University, Nashville, in 1967, an MA from Exeter College, England, in 1971, and an MFA from Clemson University, South Carolina, in 1973. His work has been exhibited at the Smithsonian Institution, Washington, D.C., and in many major museums, galleries and private collections.
