"Rhythm" is Ty Wilson's Art Deco homage to the Harlem Renaissance. Wilson first created it from hand-torn paper, and it was then printed in the 1980s or 1990s with silver metallic foil accents (they look gray in our photos; foil is hard to photograph). Signed lower right, partly hidden by the frame.
About the artist: Wilson's elegant, minimal fashion illustrations were used by Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, Vanity Fair, Macy's and Bloomingdale's. He also designed Broadway posters, including for the revival of Noel Coward's "Hay Fever" and the musical "Staggerlee."
