JM Barton Midcentury Modern colored Woodblock Print entitled “Mystery Of The Newborn”. Circa 1950s 1960s era, this is a signed artist’s proof numbered III/X (3/10). Strong, graphic representation of three women with an infant tinted with blue and green. Framed under glass in wood with gold metal edge with a textured matte, overall excellent condition and ready to hang. The following biography from the Butler Institute of American Art: Born New York, NY February 8, 1921; studied Art Students League; Nahum Tschacbasov School of Art. Work is in Metropolitan Museum of Art, Museum of Modern Art in Haifa Israel, and Philadelphia Museum of missions include Murals at the New York Board of Education and a History of Money mural at South Carolina State Bank. One-man shows have been at Fantasy Gallery in Washington, DC and Hudson Gallery in New York. He has been a lecturer on creative expression at universities throughout the East Coast.
