Art Deco Style Frolicking Bear Bookends on Black Marble, After Louis Albert Carvin

From a Palm Beach estate: a wonderful pair of vintage Art Deco frolicking bear bookends on black marble bases, in the style of Louis Albert Carvin. We call them "in the style of" because we cannot attribute them with certainty, but they have real age and are not contemporary.

About the maker: Louis Albert Carvin (1875-1951) was a prolific French Art Deco sculptor, best known for his animal studies.
